Recently, I started otherlinking the black standard poodle and, almost at the same time, I came across the recent wave of hate against otherpaws/otherlinkers. Well... Wtf????
I'm not here to delve into the otherpaw topic(I actually wanted to write more about how I feel about my linktype), but I want to clarify that I support otherpaws and believe that the creation of this term was really important to make it clear that quadrobics do not belong to the therian community. Quadrobics ≠ therian.

Black poodle
When I was younger, I heard a lot of comments about my fur; they told me I should get a straightening treatment, and when I did, they said it looked better. All this bullshit about my fur was enough to make me insecure about it nowadays, which led me to do things like unnecessarily spending an entire hour grooming it when I could spend just 20 minutes, since my fur is short.
I love dogs and I love standard poodles. The blending of their appearance and function, the way they "contradict" each other, fascinates me. Poodles have curly fur, and that's where my choice comes in; I started to feel more confident about my fur when I began calling myself a poodle.
I'm a black poodle. My fur is beautiful, curly and black. My fur doesn't have to fit a specific standard to be pretty. I love my fur and I don't care what others say about it.
Even if you don't have a specific reason to otherlink something, it doesn't matter, as long as you feel comfortable with yourself.
