CONSERVATIVES: My great-grandfather came to America with no passport, no education, and no money, and now we’re living the American Dream
ALSO CONSERVATIVES: Keep those dirty immigrants out of our country, they’re only here to commit crime and steal our jobs!
NICE's mission is to ensure refugees and immigrants achieve their full potential now and for generations to come. Since the election, two other nonprofit refugee relief organizations in the Nashville area have closed their doors, leaving hundreds of people without assistance. Help keep the Nashville International Center for Empowerment afloat with a donation today!
The Nashville International Center for Empowerment is a registered nonprofit created by and for refugees in Tennessee. “When refugees first arrive, they generally know very little about everyday life in America. Our team welcomes clients at the airport, ensures them a home cooked meal and orients them to their new life. We take care of everything refugees need upon arrival, such as finding and furnishing a new home, scheduling initial medical screenings, enrolling in all eligible social services and registering children for school.”
These are just a few of the things your donation will provide:
English-language and Citizenship classes
Medical assistance
Counseling
Financial assistance
Job placement
Wise words:
Do not wait ‘til it affects you personally. By then, it’s too late.

On January 27, 2017, Donald Trump banned all immigrants from seven countries from arriving in the United States. The next day, many people protested at San Francisco Airport.
I tried to be a news photographer for these photos. They’re presented pixel-for-pixel as my camera created them, except that they have been shrunk. (I’ll be glad to let any news organizations have the full-sized photos. Just contact me.)

We the people are greater than fear.

The protest was about people who already live and work legally in the United States. The United States is their home.

Even though the protest was spontaneous, it was fairly large.
