Watched Warfare last night. Me and my friends were left seriously speechless. It’s so visceral. Doesn’t glorify war or battle at all. The tension, fear, pain and overwhelming fight for survival is captured scarily well. It’s a straight up horror movie. There are seriously messed up things in this movie. From the moment they hold that family hostage til the moment that family walks back out into their ruined home. It’s such an experience, in real time, of the bloody horror and darkness of warfare.
I seriously commend the creators, actors and the actual soldiers who put this together. It’s not about putting a heroic spin on their story or anything. It’s seriously just a straight recounting of the mission (an event that the soldier this is dedicated to doesn’t remember AT ALL). It serves its purpose, and that purpose was just to tell their story.
