CrossFit, School, Social Life. Finding Balance.
Now that school has started back up, I've been focusing a lot more on finding a balance to all aspects of my life. With it being my senior year and all, there have been quite a few temptations thus far to venture out into the "real world" of a college student and stray away from the eat, sleep, train lifestyle I've adopted in the past. And you know what? I'm okay with that. I'm twenty one years old, I'm in a fraternity, I'm at the University of Miami, and I am not going to pass up any more opportunities to have fun and live my life to the fullest. I will spend some late nights in the Grove, I will attend all of our mixers, and I will have a few beers at football tailgates. Get ready.
At the same, you won't notice any difference. Be it in my training, my physique, or my attitude, I plan on remaining consistent on all fronts. Sure, there will be a day here and there where staying up super late and going in to train, perhaps hungover, will make me feel like death, but I'll be there every time, going as hard as I possibly can. On that accord, I want to clarify and touch on the fact that I'm not promoting drinking or partying, just telling the truth as to how how I'll be living this first semester...
As we get down into competition season, before the Open, I will, without a doubt, be toning it back and focusing on sleep, nutrition, and training (after school of course).
Speaking of school, I'm in my senior year of the Kinesiology program at UM and taking classes in preparation for the accelerated Masters in Strength and Conditions. I know, how fitting. I legitimately love the major and almost every single class associated with it. I just find it all to be so fascinating when it's so applicable to something I'm passionate about. The art of human performance.
All that said, I'm fully looking forward to every second of this year. Good times with friends, graduating Cum Laude, competing in the multiple local competitions, then the Open, qualifying for Regionals, and who know, maybe even qualifying for the 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games!
With some awesome new sponsors, fans, and those of you following, I PROMISE you're going to see more coming out of this blog. Speaking of sponsors, if you look over to the right you'll see a new link to Progenex where you can get 10% off your entire order buy using the code NOAH at checkout. The stuff is great, I highly recommend you try it. There will be a similar deal coming with Proanox very soon. So many "Pro"s, maybe it's a sign! Haha just loving life and I hope you all are too!
