Asus ProArt
I got myself what I thought was a nice 2560x1440 monitor, but
this thing takes a long, and worse, random amount of time to boot up
it produces shadow images
sometimes, I can power on the mini, log in blindly, and find it has finished loading to the desktop when the screen finally comes on. maybe this would be less of a deal if I didn't cut mains power when the systems weren't in use, but I only do so because nothing can spy on me if it doesn't have power.
(it is not all the time, because the mini itself is somewhat random about when it's ready for input. try too soon, and the password fails.)
the shadow image problem is, inexplicably, much worse on HDMI than DP, which is a thankful coincidence, because the other difference between inputs is that 'no signal' on HDMI turns the background eye searing blue instead of black. probably for 'video' reasons.
(the shadow image slowly fades over time. rebooting the computer or rebooting the monitor each have no particular effect on it.)
