You may have already talked about this at the time and I missed it, but I’m catching up on some Louis promo at the moment. I thought the Diary of a CEO convo was good, but I also know that show has platformed some really controversial/out there people. But I’m American so maybe I don’t fully understand how that show is received in the UK and elsewhere. Any thoughts on that choice? I’m not suggesting anything in particular btw, I just always enjoy your thoughts.

I feel like I'm the wrong person to answer this anon. I've only watched the Louis and Liam episode. The name and what I've figured out of the vibe are a huge turnoff for me. I'm not surprised that that sort of self-optimisation content aimed at men is very popular - and is also fucking terrible in every way.

I had assumed that the host's relationship with Liam was a large part of the decision. I also think, given how intimate it was, the host's approach would be important. Then the large audience and demographics of that audience - would ahve been important to the team.

Whether Louis listened to it - and what he thought if he did. That's not something we can know (unless he mentioned it and I forgot). I actually wouldn't be surprised either way. Like I can see some of what he does appealing to Louis - who after all mentioned the book about the founder of Nike. But also I think it's really normal for people promoing things to go on podcasts they've never heard of based on the profile.
