Rant? About OPLA?? In this economy???

Sure, there is a bunch of things I genuinely enjoy in the show. I think Baroque Works agents were wonderful, I love the attention to certain details, I think some of the side characters killed it!

But then...main cast.

Specifically Sanji.

Obviously Blackleg Sanji is one of my favourite characters of all time (I'm very gay and depressed). Call me biased, but the Netflix Sanji feels like a completely different person, and not in a good way.

He is giving nothing.

Cooking? Sure, it's there, but it doesn't give me the same enjoyment, there's no emotional depth to it! Just the way he prepares and gifts Gin seafood fried rice in the anime says so much about his character, but in live action? Nope. Nothing. And don't even get me started on the food waste! Doesn't care when Nami doesn't want to it, doesn't even eat it himself or gives it to someone else, just nothing. Doesn't care when Zoro is out there slicing fruits just leaving them there, not even a word. Food and his anxiety/respect when it comes to it is such an integral part of his character- not only does it solidify his backstory as a trauma responce, but further shows us his kindness- the way he wouldn't let anyone, even the people he hates, starve.

His chivalry! His love for women! Understandably I get how maybe it wouldn't translate well in a series like that, but eliminating it completely?? In OPLA he tries to attack Robin, doesn't care about the evil twins getting knocked out by Zoro, doesn't really care about Nami and Vivi (and the rest of the crew) getting hurt in Little Garden.

No suits? I swear, his outfits look worse than Zoro's. "Oh, but they are all based on Oda's artworks!" Yeah, well, there is a reason they don't appear in the series itself. Sure, sometimes he pulls a goofy ugly shirt, but most of the time, he is SUITED UP! He is a gentelman, he cares about cleanliness and his looks, he would NOT pull up to Loguetown in a tshirt and KHAKI SHORTS.

And, just...it doesn't feel like there is any connection between him and the crew? Every time he interacts with someone, it just feels very...uninteresting. Unemotional. They're clearly trying to start and set up his rivalry with Zoro, but it just doesn't hit the way it should, because both of them do not care. Every scene that eould solidify his place in the crew, his character, gets either cut or given to someone else. I can't name a single scene of his in the live action that I could say was enjoyable.

Don't even get me started on the Mr.Prince scene. I am still fuming.

In short, OPLA Sanji is giving me a Germa OC vibe. Judge Vinsmoke works for Netflix and is trying his best to fuck that shit up. Clearly working.

Imagine you and Dash Haber hiding out when V.I.L.E. gets taken down

Everything around you seemed to be falling into chaos as everything V.I.L.E. had built coming crumbling down. Though you didn't know how A.C.M.E. came to find out about the shadowy criminal syndicate, you were willing to bet your entire Fabergé egg collection that it had something to do with Carmen Sandiego.

You let out a dejected sigh, picking up your cup of tea from its saucer and bringing it to your lips to take a sip. To think that an ex-V.I.L.E. student could have brought down a centuries-old organization, you mused as you looked around the cafe patio you were seated in.

With it being summer in the Netherlands, the streets were crowded with citizens and tourists walking around, trying to go about their day. Thankfully the Dutch summer sun meant that sitting out in the open while wearing a floppy sun hat and sunglasses was nothing to raise an eyebrow at while you waited patiently in the cafe.

Something else to be grateful for was that you didn't have to wait long as you spotted someone wearing a familiar-looking black bowling hat and navy blue trench coat making their way to you. Setting your cup onto the saucer, you watched as Dash made his way toward you, a smile on his face as he was nearing you.

You gesture to the empty seat in front of you, motioning him to take a seat. Before you can put your hand down, Dash takes hold of your hand. Turning your hand so the back of your hand is facing up, he leans down and presses a kiss to the back of your hand before he takes a seat. "Any new news?"

Dash nods, a grim look on his face as he taps his fingers against the table. "A.C.M.E. has raided the V.I.L.E. Academy in Scotland. All of the Faculty has been arrested along with some V.I.L.E. operatives."

You let out a hum and take your cup to have another sip. You reach out with your free hand and put it over Dash's. "Well thanks to your intel, we managed to avoid being in Outer Hebrides when A.C.M.E. arrived." You run your thumb over Dash's hand before intertwining your hands together.

The tips of Dash's ears redden at your praise. Having finished your tea, you stand from your chair and pull the courier alongside you. The two of you exited the cafe patio and began walking through the crowd. "We need to think of what our plan is now that V.I.L.E. is done for." You whisper to him, making sure not to be overheard.

"Well, you do have some offshore accounts that weren't connected to V.I.L.E. which should be safe from A.C.M.E.'s freezing any and all V.I.L.E. accounts. Plus I do have non-V.I.L.E. contacts if you ever decide to sell some of your collection." Dash looks toward you. "Not that I'm saying that the money will run out soon. You're very financially literate and very wealthy." A panicked look grows on his face as he quickly reassures you, not wanting you to feel like he's insulting you.

You look amusedly at his panic. Deciding to put him out of his misery, you kiss his cheek and Dash stops his rambling, his face reddening once again. "As long as you're by my side, Dash, I'm sure we'll be fine."

Whether is trax or Moz, they all came to earth bc the triceratons obviously have beef with the kraang, the problem is that they're 10 years late (the war's over buddy, go home) but there's still a lot of kraang influence all over the planet so either way they're staying bc the triceratons HATE kraang and want them OBLITERATED GONE REDUCED TO NOTHING

They don't like earthlings either, so this is not a "we're here to help :D" this is a "I don't like you, but I dislike them even more, so stay outta the way"

Raph doesn't trust their asses ofc and as the former leader of a resistance he keeps a close eye on them and tries to make them his allies, it's hard, but at the end of the day he gets one particular triceratons to open up to him (just barely)

SO if it's Trax then it's a lot more easier for Raph to gain his trust, Trax already plans to leave the triceratons army anyway, he's just there 'cus they REALLY hate the Kraang, (they whipped out most of their race, ofc he wants to kill them) so the story goes on from there, triceratons want to destroy the earth bc there's so much kraang left overs on it, most of the living beings are already extinct amd it will take forever to build it up again (also the risk of the kraang influence leaving the earth and spreading again is far to great) , then it's up to Raph to stop this bc why not, hero moves are totally his style

Trax warms up to him bc they're both warriors on a resistance, fighting for what they believe and for those who matter, they've got a lot more in common than they think, and Raph's a sweetheart (and fucking HOT /j) so Trax would eventually leave the triceratons and join the Earth's resistance (and kiss 😳)

If it's Mozar then I'm thinking more of an enemies to lovers lmao, Mozar being the commander is the one planning on destroying the earth, Raph tries to have a convo with him, from former commander to commander, on how the world is worth saving, Mozar ofc doesn't really care and it's actively trying to blow up the planet, and Raph (and a few resistance guys ofc) stops him every time (just barely most of the time)

I guess Mozar would eventually warm up to him thanks to his spirit, they're both COMMANDERS, they've got people under their charge, Raph KNOWS what's like to have to fight to defend your people and to survive, Mozar finds his intentions honorable and that's something he can get behind
