10.14.17 || This is my first post in a while, so I figured I’d show y’all my favorite spot on campus. Update: college is hard, but I love it.
Hey I saw that you got into Cornell, congratulations! From another dreamer, do you have any advice on getting in? Thanks >u<
I’m so sorry that I took so long to answer this, and I really hope you still see it. I think there are many different paths to get accepted into any college, so definitely take anything I say with a grain of salt. Obviously, having good grades and test scores are important factors, so I won’t get into that. Personally, I think one of the most important factors is “fit.” I had a very strong fit with both Cornell and my major – evidenced by my extracurriculars, community service, essays, and interviews. Secondly, I think passion played a pretty large role in my acceptance (though my passion was a part of “fit” for me). I was very, very sure about what major and career I wanted to pursue and that was obvious in my resume. I also had a lot of MEANINGFUL community service and leadership positions, which I think made up for me not having a “perfect” GPA (albeit I still had a very strong GPA and very strong test scores). I hope that was sorta helpful. I am definitely willing to answer any other questions you have, so feel free to message me whenever!
03.15.17 || HEY, GUYS! SO I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT YESTERDAY WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE BECAUSE I GOT INTO MY DREAM SCHOOL, CORNELL!
