Infiltrating the twins’ inner circle had been a goddamn feat on its own. Being sent this way and that, fucking up as much as they could to get their foot in the door.

Now came the hard part: pretending like they belonged.

They’d done everything possible to make themselves invisible. New clothes, new hairstyle, a mask covering their more prominent scars. It seemed to be working. Thank whatever power had decided Lou wouldn’t instantly recognize and shoot them on the spot, ‘cause this must be the work of some higher force.

But they had to maintain that cover. Which meant interacting. Which mean acting. Not exactly their fucking specialty.

When they caught Lou’s eye, they nodded as casually as they could.

“...Hey.” Thankfully, they’ve never had to chat with the twins before. Their voice wouldn’t give them away.
