If you're still doing problematic dogs, tell me about the cloud doggo: Samoyeds
First of all, that white fuzz is not a cloud. Do you know what it is? Your new carpet. And sweater. And insoles, socks, toothbrush liner.
They’re advertised as friendly, you see. And they look very friendly. And they seem very friendly when you first meet them, but the Samoyed has one priority and one priority only: The Samoyed.
When you first see them, they look like tiny little polar bear babies, as white spitzes tend to do. What you might not realize is that this is the only of the white spitzes that also grows into a fully grown polar bear. It’ll be fine, you think. You can handle this.
They’re a working breed, you’re told, and you think well then, we shall work! And your Samoyed will probably say: No. No, today, we shall yell. And it will only yell.
So you give up on working it. They’re an outdoorsy breed, so you put it outdoors to entertain itself. Your Samoyed does not want to be outdoors. Your Samoyed will watch you through the window. You will ignore it. It will howl and sing. You will stand your ground. It will scream. (The neighbours are getting worried.) You’ll hide, thinking it’ll stop if it can’t see you. Then, you’ll hear it - the unmistakable sound of a 50lb dog breaking its way through a 1x1ft bathroom window.
And yet, you are already scrolling for another. They’re a social breed, you’re told, it’ll be better with a buddy.
