In the 1970s, many groups came to the Thanksgiving feast of activism for their share in the turkey symbolic of the American dream. The middle-class cisgendered heterosexual white women refused to cook this symbolic turkey, native Americans refused to be exploited by it, and Hispanics refused to mow the lawns on which the “typical” white family would later play football due to an overwhelming sense of patriotic and oppressive duty. When many middle-class cisgendered heterosexual white second wave feminists joined the movement, they were shocked to find that they would have to face inequality in their lives. Many were tricked into joining the movement by radical socialists led by the late Helen Keller, and expected to discuss the dangers of VD and importance of Lysol in their family relationships. Instead, they found that they were second-rate activists. These middle-class cisgendered heterosexual white women from respectable homes were seen as lesser activists when compared to males of all races. In response, women formed separatist political organizations to push for equal rights, a completely rational act. One such group, the C(I)A, made national news for their actions, which included fabricating a news brief of what appeared to be the Washington monument ejaculating, edited with an earlier version of the digital imaging technology later utilized by the star wars franchise. They chose this monument due to its symbol of American pride and its remarkable resemblance to human anatomy. Middle-class cisgendered heterosexual white women also used their relatively recent literacy to spread their deviant ways through literary publications, while also burning literature from any perspective that was not theirs. In many cases, they were accused of being discriminatory against anyone that wasn’t a middle-class cisgendered heterosexual white woman. Native Americans and Latinos also experienced a renewed sense of pride in their identities during this time.
