Leena sat in the waiting room, reading the parenting book she’d brought as she waited. She was halfway through a section on water births when she heard her name.
“Mrs. Donovan?” the nurse called, and Leena smiled. Three years in, and it still warmed her heart. Dog-earring the page on the already worn book, passed down from Mrs. Frederick, she walked over to greet the nurse, thinking of her name and the legacy of passing it on.
