I do love this character I got waiting to be used in any future D&D campaign, can't wait to play him some day. 😊
While it may have taken an embarrassingly long time to code, I finally figured out a way to make a “map” option in my visual novel!
When Fourth has access to maps the player can click the icon in the corner to see the layout where they are at the moment. (Images are placeholders and may be subject to change before the final version.)
But I think it would be pretty cool to have an interactive map on your character at all times.
Thoughts?
A rogue process image - decreased legibility, increased mystique
Bigger process document, this is for the original piece and then my redesign of it that I did a few months later
All of this was done on a super strict layer limit, I believe it was 15 for the final piece, this is because for some goddamn reason this piece was like 18X24” at 300 dpi
Two process images, I’ve listed the brushes for the 2nd one in there
If at any point you look at these and go “wow these look like they were haphazardly compiled after the piece was completed” you would be right
I need to get more into the habit of doing preliminary sketches and thumbnails.
Last two steps might sound contradictory but it’s less of blending it into the background and more of adding reflection lighting. You can see in the last example on the second image that the tail and leg stand out way to much, they look like they were copied&pasted in. Final image shows color adjustments, I took the immediate color next to the part I want to blend and I lightly brushed it over the edges of the part. It’s like blending two colors together each part is on separate layers still. Process image for this piece
