The thing about science is that it’s pretty much just wild experimentation but written down. Here I sampled a kick drum, added 20 inserts and stretched it. I actually like the result this time around.

In our bathroom one can sometimes hear music playing quietly from the ventilation fan. Well, not the fan itself but the vent shaft, of course ) Somewhere on some other floor somebody listens to the music and then it gets literally blown by the wind ) One day I decided to record some of it and then got the idea to transform it into a new piece of music. This track begins with the fragment of the recording itself - somewhat enhanced but still in "vent shaft quality" ). The rest of the track consists solely of is this very recording but decomposed, recycled and processed using many different techniques and algorithms. So in a way it now reminds a theme and variations form, though not in a straightforward sense.. P.S. The photo is from Centre Pompidou in Paris, not from our bathroom )
