Sound Recording House of Ukrainian Radio. This place has personal significance to me because of numerous classical concerts recorded here. These broadcasts on AM radio were the first thing to open the world of classical music to me when I was a child.
Well, now I can say that I have a Moog )

This was my first introduction into the world of electronic music during my early childhood and such a major influence on my music taste and perception at that time, that it is still felt today

Some old computers, like Commodore 64, could load programs (including games) from tape cassettes, on which data was encoded as sound. You could even connect a standard tape recorder for that purposes, or now you can even transfer this sound data from a smartphone.
But the thing that impressed me most while watching this video was that manual input of game code (printed in a paper magazine) into the computer to play it (and it disappears after PC is turned off!). Now that is what I call dedication! Sometimes it seems that current generation gets everything way too easily...
Naturens stillhet og ro er eit trua fenomen. Denne filmen skal gje følelsen av å vere i naturen utan innblanding av lydar frå oss menneske. Heller ikkje prat og musikk får sleppe til. Naturen sine eigne lydar spelar hovudrolla. Åleine.
This documentary about the nature of Norway is focused on sounds. You won't hear any voiceover or music - only pure sounds of nature, recorded in a very good quality. Really immersive! Sounds of animals, birds, snow, ice, streams, sea waves, wind in the trees...Mysterious song of the North.. With stunning visuals. Enjoyed it quite a lot! Brings you into another world...
"Magnetic Anomalies" album is now available as a playlist on YouTube. In case you don't like Soundcloud or Bandcamp for some reason )
Last year was very fruitful for synthpop genre, which I still listen to from time to time (gives me a strong sense of nostalgia) and try to follow what is happening in it. The biggest surprise was Mesh. I never really liked them, but suddenly they came up with a very good album "Looking Skyward", which is full with "classic" synthpop clichés (but only the best ones, usually) and at the same time sounds quite modern.
This combination of "vintage" and modernity seems to become a trend in the genre. Using old analogue synths (including modular) with contemporary techniques and quality of sound processing, effects, mixing and mastering contributes to that.
Another example might be Norwegian band Electro Spectre, which was also a quite surprising discovery for me. Should definitely check it out, if you're interested in this kind of stuff.
My new album "Magnetic Anomalies" has been released today by ΠΑΝΘΕΟΝ Records!
This album is largely based on processed filed recordings from various non-urban industrial environments, strange places and separate sound objects. It explores how mechanical sounds penetrate previously natural sonic environments and influence our perception of reality, and how rapid technogenic changes reshape sonic landscape, and as a result a lot of sounds remain only in our memory and our minds.
