She brings an abundance of joy in all of these precious moments you see in our photos and yet at times I am hit by waves of sadness. Today at the park I saw a little boy much younger than her waddle around and I felt sad that at 18 months she has yet to sit up on her own. I saw a little girl climbing up the play structure to go down the slide and I felt sad that Addison has not yet built the strength to climb. I know these challenges will all be overcome in perfect timing and I see her strengths so vividly. And I get all kids develop at different rates and not to compare. But on a rare occasion the sadness hits and I feel like she’s missing out on the fun. And then on the next exhale I tune into her light and feel the perfection in this journey. We must continue to focus on our strengths and carve out spaces for joy as we face our challenges. Thank you for being my greatest teacher baby. #processingshadows #addisonskywayne #trisomy8 #specialneedsfamily #starseed #rainbowchild #loveoverfear #chooselove (at Nancy Boyd Park, Martinez)
