Final Scuttlers Moving poster.
Usually I would have picked a more upbeat track for this moving poster, considering all the noise, the trains, the people, the gangs, and all the chaos going on, but I think the melody brings out a sombre feeling in the scenery that suits my interpretation of the overarching Scuttlers theme.
The font was tricky to get right, I decided to make it move a tiny bit with the buildings, and to not be too big so that it doesn't take away from the piece.
Here is the final poster image, I've separated all the layers, ready for after effects editing.
I increased the height, because I needed even more room, then I also made the brighter tones a bit redder, I liked the colour scheme of my previous poster so I wanted to represent that a bit in here. I think it also conveys the dusty and mill-filled environment gathered from the script.
After getting a feel for the type of poster I wanted to do, I started sketching out my final one.
A problem I ran into in the previous one was that there was no room for parallax movement, because the painting size was the same as the rendered screen size. so any movement would just end up showing black on the opposite side.
To counter this, this new poster had to be at least 3 times as big, to give me a lot of editing room. that portrait rectangle indicates the actual size of the poster.
Here I started playing with the layers after separating them.
I tried making a simple parallax animation out of it.
I started sketching around in photoshop to get a feel for how the poster could turn out, I decided I wanted the colour to be quite desaturated and almost 1 tone.
While taking all the words I gathered from the script into account, I started sketching out scenery of the imagery that came into my head. It had a very old, factory, noisy, stream-train-like feel to it, with mills everywhere.
