Sometimes when we have a daunting paper to complete, we tend to procrastinate. I find that once I begin, the words flow easily. The blank page curse. It may feel natural to start from the beginning, but I challenge you instead, to start from the middle. Create a general outline for your paper by writing one rough draft topic sentence for each paragraph, then pick any paragraph you like, and begin! It's much better to start on the part you feel is the most difficult and get it out of the way, or, to banish the blank page curse, start with the easiest, the one you are most knowledgeable about. When you start with the introduction, you are giving an overview of a paper you haven't written yet! This can be a challenge because you may add or remove pieces later, and for many of us, we may not even fully know what our paper is about! How could we possibly introduce it!
