Garen was cooking when he heard the door bell ring unexpectedly. He looked up from the chicken he was getting ready to cook at the door, brows furrowed, then checked the time on clock near him. It was much too early for any of the girls to be coming home, they were usually out doing whatever it was Star Guardians did ( Garen still didn’t understand entirely and he worried quite a bit about all of them but he trusted them enough to come home safe ). The rare exception was Lulu ( and occasionally Poppy ) being home early as Lulu liked to ‘help’ Garen cook dinner at times. Lux had told him they would be busy, though, so he wasn’t sure who was at the door now.
He rinsed his hands off quickly at the sink, then wiped his hands dry before finally leaving the kitchen. Garen figures he shouldn’t make whoever it is wait any longer; it it were the girls they would have just unlocked the door and come in with a bustle of noise. He doesn’t bother to take off his apron, though; he plans to go back to cooking rather soon. He wanted to have the meal finished before his sister and the other girls came home ( cooking for six people could take quite a while sometimes ).
When Garen does answer the door, however, he’s met with the sight of a blond teenager he’s never met before, but recognized based on description. Lux has talked about him before, much to Garen’s ( silent ) disdain. She spoke about him with this warmth in her voice a blush on her cheeks, and while he did try his best not to be too overbearing, he was still incredibly protective of her. Now, here the young man was at his door likely looking for his sister instead of him. Unfortunately for him ( and possibly fortunate for Garen ), though, her brother was the only one home.
“You’re Ezreal,” he states bluntly in a deep voice. His rather intimidating aura may or may not be intentional.
