Awareness of the specialty in today's date comes through words of mouth via teammates, prompting sense of need in presenting an offering; as terrible as he is in that aspect. So he advances towards the other instead with but a juice box in hand, holding it out for ( hopeful ) acceptance. "Oi, happy birthday. It's today, isn't it?" Blunt, but well-meant. He has an amicable opinion of Yamaguchi, bar choice of companion, so he is willing to do this much. ( hbday yams! already 11th here too so! <3 )

          of all the random gifts he'd received today, the juice box only added to them and this time he merely took it with a smile, "thank you." he responded, shoving the carton into his bag to take home with him as he wasn't quite thirsty yet, "I'll have it when I get home--" he hoped that was okay, "o-or I could drink it now, if you want to make sure I drink it!" he didn't plan on wasting it as it was a gift, but he didn't wish to make kageyama feel bad if he gave the impression of not drinking it because it was lame or unwanted. fingers remained curled around the juice box ready to take it out of his bag again and pop open the straw if he 'had to'.

"Try to send a nice message!". Easy to say. He never talked with the setter of Karasuno. And why did they lost the number of Karasuno’s captain ? It would be easier to text him and not the king of the court. Maybe he was a bit coller now, but Kenji didn’t want to text him. Such a pain !

[Text: King] Still ok for a match with our team ? 

No. He was pretty sure, the other one didn’t have his number so he’ll never know who he was if he send this.

[Text: King] It’s Futakuchi, still ok for a training match ?

He looked at the message and felt like he could do better.

"What are you ? His girlfriend ? Man, you sucks …" He said to himself as he delete the message. He sighed.

He prefered to be the one who was being texted. It was easier to come with an answer than to write the first message. 

[Text: King] It’s Futakuchi, are you free tomorrow ?

Why couldn’t he come with a simple message to send ? Now he wasn’t even trying to write a real message. This last one was a joke and he delete it right away. He needed to focus and send a correct message. Just one message and he’ll be free to do whatever he wanted to do. 

[Text: King] It’s Futakuchi Kenji from Datekou. Lost your captain’s number, can you tell him we need to talk about the training match ?

“Ok. It’ll do." He said, pressing the button send.
