for @yunhaws for song production
“ so-- what is the sound that you want to achieve?”
with every person that came to his production table to collaborate with him, this was a question that he threw in their faces from the very moment they stepped into his studio door. he exhaled lightly, scratching the back of his neck almost lazily as he combed a hand through his messy hair, dressed in that ugly looking sweater of his and a headband to hold back his floppy hair that smacked over his eyes.
he had made part of a song that sounded much like his own song--the only problem was that since he had pitched it to another as their song, they needed to work on how to make it yunha’s sound. or at the very least, that was what he insisted on doing, shooting off a manager through his manager to arrange a meeting between yunha and him.
“ do you have any particular thoughts?” his fingers click against the soundboard, crossing his legs in his seat as he squinted at the screen, letting the chorus of the song (unfettered, untuned and unpolished), echo it’s way through the sound system in the studio. “ you know what? since we don’t know much of each other, why don’t you start off with introducing yourself a little bit.” he mustered what he felt was a genial smile towards the younger boy, tongue between his teeth as he tugged a little nervously upon his bottom lip. “ i want to make this song in your sound, but i can’t do that if i’m not that familiar with you, or at least know the intent or motive behind your sound.”
