1:Something you’ve had constant nightmares about? In vivid detail
"Well isn’t it obvious?" Carlos scoffed. "That city will always haunt my nightmares, whether the dream be a recurring memory that can’t be forgotten, or a constant nightmare I can’t escape form until they finally catch me. I swear that place was worse than a war zone, trust me.
"If you want details though, there is one example of a recurring nightmare I suffer from…" His eyes became dark and somber as he recalled the dream, " I’m in the streets of Raccoon City, but the streets are empty. My first instinct is to follow the orders given to me, save the citizens. As I explore the city more, it becomes painfully obvious that there is no citizen to be found. Then…then my old comrades begin emerging from doorways and alleys and even the sewers, surrounding me like a swarm of rats. All of their eyes are dead, their bodies, well, for the ones that had bodies, are bloody, beaten, ravaged by the monster plague.
"They begin to whisper. At first I don’t hear them but their voices get progressively louder. They’re all asking why, why it was me that survived. Why did I deserve life when so many others didn’t?
"They all suddenly jump forward, grabbing me, freezing me in place, I can’t escape, and the last thing I hear before the bomb goes off in the distance is Mikhail telling me I’ll never leave. Then I wake up.
I wake up only to realize Mikhail was right.”
2:Something you’ve started to realize about yourself?
Carlos rested his chin on his fist as he thought for a moment. “Well, for starters, I have lived almost all of my life fighting, and, as a result, I have no idea what else I can do with it. Now that I think about it, it’s no wonder I’ve been getting in a lot of bar fights recently…
"Note to self: don’t take long vacations."
3:A quote that sums you up as a whole?
"Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive." - Elbert Hubbard
4:A quote that reminds you of ____?
"There can’t be a crisis next week. My schedule is already full." - Henry A. Kissinger
"Reminds me of my buddy, Scotty." He shook his head with a chuckle. "Always so dramatic."
5:A song that brings you to tears?
"I’ve said before that I’m not big into music, but any of that…what’s it called, dubstep? Yeah, that brings me to tears. I’m just weeping for the casualties in my ears. Such tragedy."
6:Most physical pain you’ve had to endure?
"Honestly, one of the reasons Raccoon City was so awful was the constant danger, the constant adrenaline rush that became less effective every time I encountered a B.O.W..
"I had never faced that much pain and fatigue in one night. From the very beginning, I had to run until my legs were sore, and keep running. Then I met Jill and things got even more difficult. I jumped out of a window, jumped out of a crashing train, got knocked out by a blast from a rocket launcher, assaulted by the Nemesis more than once, suffered a cut or two from the occasional piece of shrapnel of metal or glass window exploding around me, the list goes on.
"It was probably just the constant onslaught of injuries, big and small, that, in the end, left me feeling raw and nauseous for the next week."
7:Most mental pain you’ve had to endure?
Carlos paused, his heart dropping at the memory he thought he had been able to drown out. “Just before I was hired to work for Umbrella, I had to say goodbye to my best friend. I was torn away from any family, any life I once had, the day he died.”
8:Do you consider yourself an open individual?
"Well," he hesitated, "If you mean open-minded, I’d say that fits. I’m pretty open to other people’s thoughts and opinions, but I can be a bit less understanding if they’ve gotten on my bad side.
"If you mean I’m open about my feelings… Quite honestly, I’d rather not bother anyone with my problems. Especially since people tend to leave sooner or later, I figure, why should they get to know me, right? That way, it hurts less when they’re gone."
9:If there is someone you want right now, if you could tell them so, would you?
After thinking about it for a moment, Carlos slowly nodded. “If I could, yes. But I lost touch with her a long time ago.”
10:Someone who makes you happy effortlessly?
"Oh that one is easy," he chirped, "That would be my buddy Scotty! And myself, of course." Carlos chuckled with a wide grin. He’d have to pay his good friend a visit soon.
