“Hmmm I wouldn’t be so bold as to call it a truce, but more like I won’t try eating you ever again and you won’t try blowing my brains out kind of thing. Tricks, those aren’t off the table for either of us.”
The drage grinned, showing off her sharp shark like teeth as she chuckled shortly after. Her red green eyes scanned the man as he approached her. His posture expressed his cockiness, something Rhi believed Ricardo would never grow out of.
“I’ll cut right to the bullshit, an old client of mine happens to know quite a few of the guys that fucked you over. You know, the ones that ended up causing you to be a rock lobster thing. I was thinking I could help you get revenge of sorts in exchange for something..substantial.”
She had cast out her hook and worm, now it was a matter of waiting. Seeing if the fish would take the bait.
There was a change in his posture when he listened to her offer. His attention was now fully on her as he subtly rose his brow. If there was one thing the businessman didn’t have it was a poker face. He wasn’t going to lay all his cards out on the table, though.
“Why should I trust your client?”
The fish had still taken the bait. She had known what he wanted, what he’d somehow dreamed of for years. How could he possibly refuse the hopes of making the people that caused him agony and torment for years suffer worse than he ever did?
“Of course you want somethin’ in retoin. I wouldn’t expect any less out of ya. What is it? If you’re hopin’ for my soul I sold that years ago.”
