Exhibition Poster
I created an exhibition with the same intentions I had stylistically, throughout the semester. The date and time is made up as we’re no longer hosting this exhibition but I added it for a sense of realism.
The idea behind this poster was to have a map of the surrounding area of Rogue Studios where the proposed exhibition was being held, have it circled like the maps you see around, and it shows you where you are on the map to gather directions (’you are here’) and then incorporated all of my illustrations of the gallery group (who should have been involved, but it turned into a solo show due to Covid-19) stood within the facility of the venue. I feel like it was a really playful idea of mine and also very useful in terms of being able to find where the venue is, as that was one of the cons in terms of where the venue was located, it felt too far out, so this way, my poster helps and also advertises. I used google maps so it is real life directions, and converted it into a line drawing on photoshop, then highlighted using pastel shades much like my exhibition piece, on the surrounding places of the map, that might seem familiar to get a sense of direction of how to get to the exhibition. My choice of typeface (Times New Roman) was the exact same that Helen Oxenbury & Michael Rosen use in the book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ which was the main inspiration for my exhibition piece so I felt it needed to be incorporated, I also discovered it was used in italics which I preferred. The text box with all of the information for the proposed exhibition in, the opacity was turned down so that you could still see the map though the details and also so it didn't look too block coloured, It complimented the ‘you are here’ signpost.

Here is another mock up design of my exhibition piece photoshopped into the venue that was chosen to host our exhibition in before Covid-19.
Here is my exhibition piece photoshopped into the venue we were meant to hold our proposed exhibition at. This is one of my personal images I took when visiting, this is how a solo exhibition was set up at the time, so I decided to recreate this.
