dude, when my mom was pregnant with me all she did was drink Dr Pepper and eat shrimp & I’m a damn genius so… :P

Shrimp isn’t on the banned list, I can eat shrimp! ALL THE SHRIMP I WANT. Which is fab because it’s one of my favorites

BUT YEAH, my mother in law laughed when I told her my dietary restrictions and said she ate every single thing on it with both of her kids - Dr Pepper and snickers were her breakfast of choice with Squid and he seems okay. IDK he married me so I’m not sure I can say  the same about his intelligence :p

Wow. They never ever asked us to leave early. Even when I was so sick that guests were literally asking if I needed a doctor, they would ask if I could finish my shift. Wow.

Oh, they didn’t ask people to leave early. In fact they were asking people to stay. I’d been asked ahead of time to come in at 4pm instead of 8pm. It was the staff who were asking to leave early - they had to pick up a relative, family emergency or whatever. One of the people who called out, who said she had a death in her family, had gone to see Star Wars with her dad and one of the team members who did come to work and she talked about it. I don’t think they can do anything about it, but it was kinda shitty. (I say that as someone who actually did have a death in my family quite recently.)

Okay, have to get dressed and try not to kill the next person who insists that we’re not sold out of something they want because online it says we have one.

I couldn't do it anymore. I was starting to have panic attacks. It was terrible. :(

It’s not going to get any better either. I mean, as someone pointed out, there are only 6 Friday’s until Christmas. We don’t have enough people on the floor, they’re bringing on 4 more for our department but they’ll be so green as to be almost worthless at this point. The store manager has decided that quantity is better than quality so we’re all supposedly going to get 4 or 4.5 hour shifts 5 days a week so there’s more of us on the floor. It feels like a slap in the face. I mean, I’m trained to work in a lot of different areas and I do a lot more work than my job technically requires me to do and the only way for my employer to show their appreciation is by giving me a raise (my last raise was $0.04 an hour), by giving me my preferred schedule (I prefer mornings which is why after next week I’m all mid-shifts) and giving more hours to the better performing staff. Now none of that matters. I guess all I can do is go in and not do any of the above and beyond stuff I was doing and just do what the rest of my team does - the bare minimum. It’s not like you can get a whole lot done in 4 hours anyway. Tonight I’ll probably be on a register for my entire shift.

I’m glad you were able to get out. wish I could leave, but even with all the resumes I send out I don’t hear anything back. I’m stuck.

I wonder if I should look up anything on Fanlore. I highly, highly doubt there's anything for me. Also, no one in fandom knows my real name. LOL

They also list stuff under fannish pseudonyms as long as you consistently use the same one, I think. In real life back in another life I chaired conventions, edited fanzines and newsletters, ran fan clubs, DJ’d dances, and so many other things. Of course, now I can’t even go to a con without having an anxiety attack. How the times have changed.
