In lieu of recent events, I shall provide a word for you all to get your mouth around—
There is a word that identifies someone whose sole purpose is to spin yarns and tall tales. The actual name for such a person is Odin......
No wait:
It is a sophist.
A sophist is someone who blatantly disregards the truth in favour of looking smart. Or innocent, or blameless.
There is an addition to this:
Sophist-iot {so-fist-iot}
- Noun
- From the Greek word "Sophist" and the English "Idiot"
This word identifies a person who relies heavily upon the realistic misconception of argument from ignorance aka "Argumentum ad Logicam" to not only imply that someone’s posed statement is incorrect, but then to passively-aggressively slander the other person presenting said disagreement.
So for those who do not know; this particular term is frequently associated with college-aged individuals. Or those sweet narcissistic souls who like to shirk accountability. These individuals troll online communities in the hopes of engaging members in self-affirming argumentation against often innocent unsuspecting users. This minimal exposure to the grandiloquent field emboldens their, incorrect, belief in their own intellectual superiority and self-worth. But in reality, they make themselves appear clueless.
Basically in layman's terms; a sophist is someone who twists words.
