I'm watching the original series of the Pokemon anime on Netflix. I'm watching Pokemon Emergency. Gosh, the memories. I'm near tears. The voices, the animantion, everything is bringing back childhood memories.
But now I remember why I became a Pokeshipper. And was because of this episode. In the moment Misty’s face softened upon hearing how badly Pikachu was, I knew she cared about Ash.
While she had literally finished him out about five hours earlier (I’m guessing it took Ash about an hour and half to get to Viridian City), she already was starting to care for him.
Maybe cause she saw his demur and started to lay off on him? I mean, Ash did just get Professor Oak into a bind with the bet he made with Gary. Plus he was feeling so low after hearing his Mom gush about his father.
‘It took your father three days to get to Viridian City! He would be so proud of you! You are becoming the apple of his eye! Sorrowing like a Spearow!’ Ash disagrees, feeling like a fallen Pidgey in the hours prior to arriving there.
Is it possible to become a shipper that fast in those scenes? I mean I didn’t see the first episode until a later on but I do remember that scene being the first scene I saw of the original anime.
Geese, I became a die harder shipper from that one scene? And that was WAY before I knew what shipping was. When this was first on television, I was a kid and I was hoping Ash and Misty would just hurry up and kiss.
I guess somethings never change. Like my passion for this shipping. I just needed to rediscover the reason I was so attached to this shipping. This is just one of the many reasons. Another reason is more of a personal one.
But that’s a story for another time.
