sweet LORD, that dress you designed for Allura!!!! OMG, I get strong Egyptian vibes looking at it and they are SO GOOD. all the details, the gilding, the color palette, it's all excellent

Apologies in advance but I'm gonna springboard off this ask to gush about the inspo for this design because I loooove doing that haha.

This will be long, so I'll add a read more:

OKAY! So, honestly, I didn't really look at any Egyptian style of clothing while designing, but that's a very interesting observation! I've always liked the style, so it may have bled into it subconsciously lol.

Now, the main inspo for the dress is a combination of designs by Lonary, whom I found one of their pieces credited on pinterest! (Seriously, take a look at their designs, I ADORE them!!) This is my favorite but it was not the main inspo for the design.

As for the colors, nearly all are from colorpicking from her official ref pic!

And the jewelry/emblem/symbol is based on some symbols my friends and I have noticed on altean banners and King Alfor's badge! (I had also used it here and here)

Finally, the iridescent colors is just that. I want all the sparkly colorful goodness for Allura, so I studied how holographic material looks. She represents light to me, reflecting all the colors (like she's connected to the lions). I kind of have a similar theme with Shiro, absorbing all light/colors as black. (Gotta love the yin yang aaaah)

I just........had a lot of fun lol. I always try to sprinkle in these elements in my art and I'm very grateful and glad that my efforts are being received well 💜

He’s TERRIBLE at disguises! It might fool some people, but people who has seen bad disguises before (eg. Jester), it’s so obvious! It might fool Fjord tho

Essek felt a lump of nausea constrict his breathing. Yes, had seen him bloodied before; he wouldn’t soon forget the image of the broken metal slashed across Caleb's throat by the Scourger. Essek remembered the rage he had felt. But these were much deeper emotions now, more tangled feelings. Essek was worried, angry, guilty… He understood this was the normalcy of the Nein’s dangerous lives, but still…. it was hard to watch up close.

Happy Birthday! Been following you since Voltron Legendary Defender was airing. Love the Shallura, and love love LOVE your character designs for Romelle and Ryou. Your art is lovely, I'm happy to see whatever you choose to draw, whether it's Voltron or other fandoms or original stuff
