I’ve always wanted to try making comics of some sort like this. But line work stresses me out, and every time I tried I got burned out very quickly. Then a few weeks ago, I thought why not try it in a sketchy style instead? So I decided to try drawing this moment from my fic “Danger in the Shadows” (which you can find on Archive of Our Own. Dm me if you can’t find it and I’ll link you to it!)⠀ I included the original sketch on the last slide to sort of show the planning of it. Hoo boy, this was hard. I do not know how to lay out panels, and drawing one person in the same pose multiple times only slightly different was frustrating! Also what the heck is going on with Ratigan’s legs?! This is why I never draw him full body 😂 ⠀ Anyway, this was fun to try. I’m not sure if I’ll continue the scene? I’d kind of like to, but there is SO much dialogue between them, and there’s only so many ways I can draw Basil tied up in a chair 😅 so idk! We’ll see.⠀ I’d really like to try simpler shorter comics too I think. I just have no idea what to make them about! What do y’all think?
