1. her earrings were once owned by her mother
2. "The Cycle of Ashlesh" tale is not directly talking about water, it is about the cicle of death and life
3. nilah didnt defeat ashlesh alone, she had the help of a third entity
4. her hair is always at a semi humid condition (she deals with water after all)

she uses it to carry her books and other interesting things she finds along the way
6. tears = water = ashlesh's domain
nilah cannot shed tears; she wont tear after a burst of laugh, she cant cry in pain

she closes her eyes, she rests, but she doesn't enter that deep state of relaxation that we know, she never truly turns off
9. that said, her preferred position is to lay down on her back

she uses it as a distraction of her guardian duties since she spends a lot of time alone in space, it helps with concentration too :3

she gives the impression that she doesn't see a thing with that cloth on her face, just to whip the enemy ass the next moment
the thing is, nilah hides her face so she doesn't scare the traveling champions that get to the Lands Beyond; the price paid by nilah in this au upon making an agreement with the one eyed god probably modified her body, and this is something she will only show to those who deserve, or to those that are close enough to her...
