Hi, I'm a new tumblr fumbling around with fanfic analysis! I just wanted to say that I remember stumbling across your stuff a couple years back looking up stuff for a class and it's always stuck with me. I'm really glad to see coming back now that you're still around! Would you have any recs for other active-ish fandom analysis blogs?
Aww, thank you! :3
I am packing to head out to GeekGirlCon, so I don’t have time to give your recs question the full attention it deserves. But I’ve gathered some pointers to other analyses in the past. And my GeekGirlCon co-panelists are all worth checking out:
@olderthannetfic has done various analyses of fanwork content and is co-presenting some analyses with me at the con.
University of Washington has a research lab ( @ffanalytics ) that looks at questions like how reader feedback influences fan authors.
@fansplaining does really cool fandom surveys and detailed articles writing up their findings.
Also check out the #fandom stats tag here on Tumblr. And anyone who follows me who wants to self-rec, please do so in the comments! (I’d also love more pointers to newer fandom data blogs to check out.)
