Trinity Bellwoods Recreation Center
The infamous Trinity Bellwoods park is a public park in Toronto, ON. The current Trinity Bellwoods Community Recreation Center is located at 155 Crawford Street in the west side of the park and has a total footprint area of 2787 m2. In its current location, the existing community center is isolated from the most active pockets of the park. Therefore a new intervention area is suggested around the dog pit where an additional hub is to be created on this site: the Bath House and Community Center. This proposal presents opportunities to engage with site related conditions of topography, culture, and circulation to translate into a cohesive architectural object. Through programmatic expansion of the current recreation center, a deeper integration with the Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood is generated to expand community outreach and participation.
