Conceal Don't Feel {peko&chihiro}
Ever since moving in, Peko hadn't been getting much sleep. It was strange, actually, considering she had a real bed to sleep in for once. The Kuzuryuu family had provided her with a thin mattress to sleep on-- and she was reminded that a tool such as herself should be thankful for just that more than she cared to recall. The bed she owned inside her dorm room was of such soft, comfortable quality... but it was something she was so unused to that it felt strange. Although she was to pretend that she was an average schoolgirl, a tool shouldn't have such nice things... she knew that all too well.
Chihiro Fujisaki was her roommate. Due to her intimidating appearance and red eyed stare, the other girl seemed rather shy and timid in her company. They hadn't interacted very much-- neither very social, but they were comfortable enough with each other to regard one another with nods in the hallway at this point. She usually assumed that Chihiro slept while she laid awake in bed until the late hours of the evening. However... tonight in particular she could hear the constant sounds of the girl tossing and turning in her bed, growing evidently restless. There was tension filling the four walls of their room, on the verge of exploding.
The kendoka turned around in bed so that she was facing Chihiro, her red eyes glowing just a bit in the darkness of their room. She had to squint them to see Chihiro's figure in the dark without the assistance of her glasses. "Fujisaki...? Are you awake?" She asked quietly. She already knew the answer to this question-- but it was the simplest way for her to start a conversation as any. In a way, she wanted to assure the other girl that she would be safe. Her shinai, as always, was right at hand. Although made of bamboo, Peko was always skilled enough that she could defend them both, should a threat arise. Perhaps... an attempt at conversation would distract her from her own fears as well. As of course, she was not supposed to be scared of anything. Emotions? Pointless... but... the flower of apprehension that opened up in her chest was quite hard to ignore.
