Yes, I remembered Tumblr exists today. Here's an update on what I've been doing:
Her great-aunt was in a bad way, and they were the only dedicated bakery in this tiny-ass flood-prone town, so shuttering it would be a huge community loss. It would also be a hell of a financial loss considering the bakery gets the most foot traffic of any establishment on Main Street during the Farmer’s Markets and seasonal rushes from city folk trying to get a taste of this quiet little speck of civilization nestled between three picturesque mountains. Or get their sandwiches and keys stolen by the boldest ravens known to people.
One sat under the awning in the basketball-sized dry spot right in front of the door and stared at me as I approached. I had to nudge it out of the way with my foot to get it to move, and even then, it just stepped to the edge of the dry patch and emitted an annoyed croak.
Seriously, these things don’t know fear.
