I’ll be totally honest - I never really understood the draw of progress keepers. I knew some people used them to count rows, but I otherwise didn’t get the idea of attaching something to my knitting so I could see how much I had knit. Couldn’t I just… look at the knitting and see that? And then I clipped one onto my Whitecaps scarf WIP, and my life was forever changed.

3 Reasons to Use Progress Keepers
I didn’t understand the draw of progress keepers until, on a whim, I clipped one onto my Whitecaps scarf WIP. And I very quickly discovered that this little gizmo is probably one of the best things ever.
1. Immediately shows progress
As soon as my new best friend was clipped onto my work, I could instantly see how much knitting I did on a long project. I would clip it to the top of my knitting, right under my needles, at the beginning of the week, and gleefully watch it move further and further down until Friday, when I would bask in the glory of all the knitting I had done.
2. Super cute
Progress keepers come with all sorts of fun and unique little charms! You can match the charm to your project theme or colour, find a favourite and use it over and over again, or use multiples if you want to use them to count rows.
3. Excellent for photos
And speaking of lovely little notions, it made taking photos for the blog and social media a lot easier! It gave me something to centre in the photo, which is the biggest issue with knits that have an all-over stitch pattern since it’s hard to give people a spot to focus on, and it just adds a little something. A little flair. Zhuzh. Personality. Sparkle, if you will.
so i have been making my own progress keepers lately. i started with just some charms i bought but recently i’ve been making my own charms. wish me luck in this new endeavor 😊😊😊
Star Trek stitch markers have been added to my Etsy store. I ran out of beads but more were already on the way, so I'll have even more in stock soon. I love the sparkles in them, because they make me think of stars and space, perfect for Star Trek! I also have a giveaway over at my Instagram, with two sets up for grabs. Entries close Monday, 7th August 2017, 8pm Australian EST.
Coming very, very soon to my Etsy store - Harry Potter and Doctor Who stitch markers! This will be listed this weekend. Use the coupon code TOBOLDLYGO to get 20% off your purchase until 31/8/17.
What yarn collection would be complete without stitch markers??💖
You can't tell me that not every Sailor Moon fan wanted Usagi's bedsheets! The first set of markers are inspired by her kawaii bedding, and are available in small and medium arches.
More arches up next, but with each scout's planetary symbol in golden powder, accompanied by a flower bunch.
Lastly, the perfect fuku bows! Each with their Super form heart shaped brooch. 🎀
I honestly had more ieads that I wanted to make, but had to stop myself this time. I'm sure I'll release a collection of just stitch markers sometime soon! 😂
