Project FDEWB Emergency

Brothers and sisters of the SPN Family (and otherwise) there is a problem

The simple fact is, we are not getting enough letters to fill the scrapbooks

Hell, we are not getting enough letters to fill a notebook, and quite frankly we're starting to worry about you guys

Time is of the essence! The convention we planned to present J2M with the scrapbooks is on 20 September 2013. That is two months away.

Now, scrapbooking may look easy from whatever videos you may have stumbled upon during your voyages through the interwebulars, but it's kinda not. It requires a lot of organization, and most importantly time to get everything right.

We want these things to look awesome for our guys and gals. Something they can proudly display on their coffee tables or in their trailers or (knowing Misha and Vicki) in their bathroom somewhere. Probably on the toilet.

And throwing together three scrapbooks in a couple of weeks is a recipe for disaster.

So, family, we ask that you make haste in writing and mailing (or emailing!) your letters to us. Even some by early September is enough time, but they need to start coming soon, or unfortunately, this project isn't going to go anywhere

I’m glad you asked. Be on the lookout today for an important missive tomorrow about the project. There’s a tiiiiny but actually kinda large problem. (hint: we’re not getting enough letters???) Full details tomorrow!

I'm really interested in taking part in your Family Don't End In Blood project but I was just wondering when you were going to send the scrapbooks, as it might take me a while to get past all my work and end up writing for it, and I live in Australia so it could take a while to get there?

Thanks so much for considering participating! I plan to go to Dallas Con on September 20th, so submissions close on 10 September 2013. I suggest asking your local post office clerk when’s the latest date you can send the letter with it still arriving on time!

Hi! So your post about Project: Family Don't End With Blood update showed up on my dashboard, and I was wondering, what's it all about? I got enough from the tags for it to catch my interest, but I couldn't find much of anything else about it and I got lost looking for it in the archives.... If you wouldn't mind explaining, that would be awesome. Please? And thank you?

No problem! If you’re in the SPN fandom, you know about all the hateful tweets Danneel receives daily or the hate posts going on in the Misha Collins tag, and so on and so forth. Project: Family Don’t End With Blood is basically a chance for all the supporters of J2M and their wives to finally have a voice against all the negativity our guys receive on a daily basis. It’s an idea to compile three scrapbooks full of lovely hand-written letters and fanart dedicated to each couple. So Jensen and Danneel will have one, Misha and Vicki will have one, and Jared and Genevieve will have one!

We figure with something like this, something physical and something this huge, the haters won’t be able to touch it, or taint it with their negativity. We can trend as many supportive topics as we want, or start as many nice tumblr tags as we like, but the haters always seem to be able to get to them, so this is something that they cannot touch or ruin, and that’s a total victory in my book!

For the scrapbook--i have a few ideas of what i want to say in my notes but is there any kind of theme or something you're looking to stick with? Obviously i get that the letters should be heartfelt and not just fan-ish spazzing but do you have any kind of...i don't know, answer prompts i guess? Also, about how long are you looking for these to be, just so i know how much space i've got to say what i wanna say.

There are no themes or restrictions. Go nuts! The only stipulation of the content of the note is that it must be about the man AND his wife, not just one or the other. You can say whatever you like, from a simple “I love you” to something heartfelt, just try to keep it under two pages. And appropriate (for some of you saucy fellows). Compliments are fantastic, just don’t get creepy about it.

Also a suggestions list can be arranged, if some of you would like to send a letter but have no idea what to write.

Uhm... I want to write or draw something for the project, but I live pretty far away and I don't know when I can send the stuff... So, when is the earliest time you will hand the books to them?

There is no set deadline at the moment! But rest assured that there will be more than enough time to mail your stuff. :) This is a pretty huge project, with MANY international participants, so everything will take considerable time.

If you would like dates anyway, the preliminary closing dates are 18 June, 2013 (wherein the books will be shipped to Vancouver). Or 10 September, 2013 (wherein I will attend Dallas Con and hand them to the boys myself). I promise you everyone will have at least four months to mail whatever they like!
