ohhhh im in the new year spirit

make my current desk into a short coffee table (might require sanding the top flat and doing something to seal but its plywood so i'll look it up)

make a teapot display stand (buy another small table or bookcase for it to sit on) since apparently i own fancy teapots now haha

more chopstick rests!! i want to make vegetable shaped ones now

magnets! and charms like all the youtubers make! i saw a cute buttered toast magnet at the farmer's market that i loooooove (and went "we can make that at home!" somewhat derisively)

again my thoughts are all over the place in this doc but I’ve been jotting down notes for shaping the plot on how the weight of lingering emotions like love and grief make a haunting, how haunted houses are actually vessels for the haunted people within them, and how human connection is at the core of everything

this is the piece about angel closing down with his dad at dinner vs opening up to seb (and breaking some of their bad habits in pushing each other away when things get a little too real) AKA angel hates his dad and himself but loves his bf

what is a haunting

my notes on the twins are a little too scattered to share a screenshot BUT I can share some lore:

julien co-founded the investigation team and leads it currently

if the MC doesn’t meet the conditions for having sam’s jacket then it’s in julien’s possession

originally julien was supposed to be the believer and jo would be the skeptic but it’s actually turning out to be the other way around with them

jo is the team’s audio-visual technician

one of the ROs is jo but she ends up in a relationship with another character if not with the MC or there’s a poly option (for female and nb MCs as jo is a lesbian) with them

their dad essentially funded the team and he’s a pillar of their found family’s dynamic - this is also essential to the plot catalyst

this one is the planning doc for my personal project so it’s mostly scattered thoughts and scene fragments but here’s some of my notes on one of the main characters:

somehow I just knew this one would grab your attention by the phrasing of the title HFGDH but this one is my own original project - not yet sure if it will be developed as an IF or an outright linear novel - that I've chipped away on and off over the years but only recently started working on it in seriousness

the core of it delves into the way that people are haunted houses themselves, how intense love and intense grief can manifest a lifelong haunting, while on the surface it's about a paranormal research-and-investigating crew in the aftermath of a tragic event brought together again by circumstance and how they're forced to come to terms with and resolve things with the ghost of the past in both a literal and figurative sense

sort of thinking about it yeah! it’s an original story I’ve been chipping at on and off since I was a teenager, but I realized recently with some changes that it could potentially work really well in an IF format, so it’s def something I’m considering 👀
