WHAT is that one poem (?), abt a modern worker contemplating the numerous forgotten who were actually responsible for all the ‘great’ deeds of history

so it goes like this:

i have a novel idea. it’s a space horror, see. i have all the plot points hammered out. i have written <10K of the epistolary notes that will be interspersed throughout the novel. i scared myself last night in bed while coming up with a few more scary moments with which to terrify my main character moses. i have ~fifteen characters, i have the pre- and hidden stories, i have the settings, the design of the mining base and the starship, all of it, ready and waiting like wheat to be harvested. fields of material ready to go that simply need to be put into the mill and ground into flour, folded into bread.

and what, you ask, have i done with this hard hard work? how have i spent the last few days?

why, building a vertical shaft mine in minecraft, of course!

i know this is one of THE biggest NO-NO’s of sf/f writing out there, but i’m having fun with coming up with a convoluted naming scheme for p: nadir so fuck the rules:

Li’__ : Lireae systems, social democracy; three systems

[vowel]S___ : ‘of the home system’, system from which humans originally evolved; one system

[one syllable]-[one]-[two]-[one] : Muasittic autocratic territories; five systems

[clan name] [public/chosen/given] [private/intimate] : Ne-hanti meritocracies; seven systems

[given/chosen] [surname] : corporation territories; database of about 500 or so surnames/families/clans to each corporation/federation; six systems

doing research about how mines work for a space horror novel aka i am very worried abt what my youtube recommendations are going to look like now bc i stumbled onto Corporate Mining Stakeholder Presentations With That Kind of Fake Uplifting Bland Music In The Background, You Know The Kind

i don’t know what switch flipped in my brain this week (it really honestly might be that i’m making a concentrated effort to have at least a BITE of food before 6pm) but i figured out a LOT of stuff for like... most of my original projects!! and i’m feeling very good so i wanna talk about them!!

salt seas - this one i haven’t touched in a while, but i connected a few important character backstory dots to some worldbuilding dots today and now it feels like i’ve unlocked the ability to write it again!

concrete ghosts - i want to go whole hog and not only write a few short stories (maybe try my hand at poetry?) but also an essay!! about the concept of how capitalism contributes to modern ideas abt haunted places! bc i am a Super Nerd and i love gathering research/compiling it all into an analysis. idk if this initial idea will have any legs but i get to find out if it does!

edited the first story and have started work on the second :D

nadir - LOTS of plot unlocking going on, including where/how exactly to begin the story, research abt space radiation and plant memory, written ~3k

gloaming - i literally spent all of my lunch break yesterday furiously typing out my evolved ideas for this one. settled on a pov character, tinkered with the worldbuilding and “magic” systems, basically all of the story beats and character relationships as WELL as a few passes at the first sentence

the only ones that i didn’t much work for are dance to the tune, but that one is already in the second draft stage, and neon, which i haven’t touched since last nano and feel comfortable with it just chilling on the backburner while i work on these other projects, so i’m feeling REALLY good!!

i’m compiling all the random little notes for original projects that i jotted down at work and it’s genuinely so funny to me, immediately being able to tell what media i was consuming at the time, like:
