Salem
Prismacolor markers and colored pencils
9" x 12"

Can you believe this is somehow the first full color physical drawing I've made of Salem despite inventing him like 6 years ago and doodling him one william times? Astounding
My process for this was kinda weird– the proportions of the initial sketch were wack so I stretched it out digitally, printed the fixed version, then traced back over it and re-lined it. Definitely more steps than necessary, but hey, if it works, it works
It's my boy Salem yaaaaaay
Super proud of how this turned out. I don't usually do any kind of background or composition, so this was a really fun experiment. At first I just wanted to make a collage of all the Salem doodles I'd made on my homework so I could have them all in one place, but there there was still a big gap in the middle so I drew another big Salem to fill it, then touched up the old doodles, added details and writing, and here we are! I love this character so much, he's my favorite to draw if you couldn't tell
Traditional; pen, pencil, and prismacolor markers on paper
Summer 2025
My beautiful son Salem who has every disease and every curse and who I love so very much
Digital, made in Ibis Paint
Completed 6/6/2026
And his humanized version:
Today I bring you yet another drawing of Salem, this time as a star wars character! I made this for my trial of craft so I could get knighted as a jedi :) It just had to be some kind of star wars related art or craft, so of course I found a way to still make it about Salem. I made him a togruta cause the head tails mimic the shape of his horns and long hair, plus complicated patterns are just fun. And normally he's a warlock/sorcerer multiclass with all the warlock spells showing up red and the sorcerer spells blue, so I gave him a red and blue saber-staff. And of course I had to go overboard and make 3 different versions too– masked, unmasked, and pre-incident. This project was a lot of fun :)
Here's the pre-incident version–
Aaaaand a shitty first draft–
And of course, the unmasked version under the cut–
(gore warning [sort of?], open mouth scar with exposed teeth and gums)
Anotha one
I'm actually so proud of how this turned out, I've never tried doing colored lighting before (or any kind of directional lighting really), and it turned out so cool. I love the texture too
And here's the linked playlist:
Uriel ref sheet! I accidentally made him slay way harder than intended and now it's making me wanna redo the Salem one to match the quality... No I shant. I mustn't
