February 2017 Skincare ~Empties~
Let’s talk - empties and whether or not I would repurchase. I don’t have that many this month, but we’ll get into it anyway. Why not?!
The first thing I finished up this month was my Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash. I’ve repurchased it so many times over the last several years and even when I use other cleansers, I ALWAYS go back to this one. I know I’ve talked about this more times than any of you care to hear, and I’m sorry for being a broken record, but it really is just that good! It doesn’t strip my skin or leave it feeling dry or dehydrated. It’s the perfect amount of clean for everyday use!
Next up, the Pixi Glow-To-Go Glow Tonic Pads! I’ve gone through the entire pack and I have to say, I think it’s time to try a different Glycolic Acid toner. Don’t get me wrong, I REALLY enjoy the Pixi Glow Tonic, both in the 100mL bottle and the pads. The only thing is, I’m really not seeing much, if any, change in the overall texture and color of my skin, especially on my cheeks. I’m finding that it just might be too mild for me. I didn’t expect to find myself on a toner hunt this month, so hopefully March brings better things!
I am so, so sorry about this next one... I’ve finished my Lush Cosmetics “Enzymion” moisturizer and will not be repurchasing it again. After about 3 or 4 years of using this stuff RELIGIOUSLY, I’ve decided that for ethical and monetary reasons to change it up a little bit. First and foremost, though I love this moisturizer, it doesn’t have any SPF in it. As a tretinoin (or any retinol/retinoid product!!!) user, it’s VERY crucial that I keep my skin protected from the sun.
On top of that, I’ve read and encountered some generally sketchy things about Lush over the last few weeks. PLEASE if you love Lush or you love their products, you don’t have to stop using them!!! Just do your research and make your own decisions. Be an informed consumer (:
When I started this post I honestly thought I had a TON of stuff to talk about but I really don’t...... I seriously thought I emptied a LOT more than three things this month.... Oh well!
What did you empty?? Will you be repurchasing? Let me know (:

18 in 2018 finale
Obviously I didn’t finish anything else. I’ll be trashing everything except for the benefit palette (I’ll toss in May,) it cosmetics powder, and hydrating primer. I’ll miss the Milk highlighter the most. I also just discovered how beautiful champagne truffle from the chocolate bar is as a highlight. I’ll be posting my 2019 project probably late this week.
18 in 2018 Summer Update
Before I start with the photos, it has been way too hot for makeup most days. I haven’t been wearing makeup as often due to the heat. Circumstances in my work life have also changed how I’m using my makeup.
Primers:
The primer water was finished up in May. I started using the SPF primer in the morning during my walks or when I’m doing garden work. This has helped me make some progress. I haven’t needed much of the other two lately, though.
Foundations:
I swapped the smashbox for the Too Faced Born This Way foundation in late May. I also finished the first Laniege cushion, so the one in the picture is the refil. I’m loving using the cushion foundation for the summer.
Powder/ Highlighter:
TF Milk Chocolate bronzer was finished in April. I’m making a bit of progress on the powder, using it to set my foundation. The highlighter stick is slowly but surely being used.
Blush/ Bronzer:
Let me preface with the fact that my birthday was in May and I went Blush/ Bronzer crazy this spring. I’ve been diligently using Hoola, but haven’t touched Dallas in a while.
Eyeshadow:
Ok. Moment of shame. I let my frustration with this palette get the better of me and I attacked some of my seldom used shades to hit pan: Guilded Ganache, Black Forest Truffle, and Amaretto. Some of the shades in this palette just don’t perform how they ought to! The metallic and shimmer shades just look muddy, apart from marzipan and champagne truffle.
Shades I hit genuinely pan this spring: Strawberry Bon Bon in April, White Chocolate in May, and Milk Chocolate in June.
Everything Else:
I’m moving steadily on Majorette but haven’t touched it a while. Lolita II has been put into my KVD project pan as well so I’ve been wearing it pretty frequently. No visible progress on Oil Slick. I don’t like wearing it or the other two glazen eye glosses I have in my collection. The shadow primer is being used nearly every day.
I would like to finish up two products and hit pan on a face product by autumn.
18 of 2018- Spring Update
Primers
The primer water is almost gone. I’ve marked where I am. I’m making good progress with the hydrating primer, but it’s slow going with the other two.
Foundation
What’s left of The It Cosmetics CC cream is in the little tub, but I’m calling this one finished. The only other foundation with real progres is the Maybelline. I’m still on the first cushion with the Laniege and I haven’t touched the smashbox
Finally! Pan on my chocolate bronzer! I hit pan in late February. Little use on the highlighter and the powder
Bronzer/ Blush
Still working on expanding the dip on Dallas but I haven’t been using Hoola at all. Dandelion is starting to get a dip too
Eyeshadow
I hit pan on Salted Caramel and Marzipan in late January. I’m starting to get really bored of this palette so I may put it away for a little while.
Not much visible progress here but I finally figured out how to use Majorette properly. The dome is gone and I might be able to use it up by summer if I keep working on it. The eyeshadow primer is marked with my progress.

May 10th Repressing an eyeshadow for the first time
Repressed the shade "Royal" in my Purple Reign eyeshadow palette. This is the first time I've ever repressed an eyeshadow so don't judge please.
Any tips for repressing eyeshadow?
