Project Purpose
I should first add, we don’t not create a purpose, we find it.
I’ve been recently inspired by a youtube channel called The Bible Project. Its a company that started 2 years ago and has 2 co founders who wanted to share the Bible as a unified narrative relevant to today.
My description doesn’t do their vision justice at all.
Here is a link to one of their videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQwnH8th_fs
As I began watching a lot of their behind the scenes, I first realised that they did a lot of work for free for a long time; about a year. Yet the quality of videos was so high, that they didn’t need to increase it but rather just sped up production as they began hiring people.
One of the things I decided upon over the last 2 years was that purpose precedes comfort. When my outward decisions began to reflect that, I could finally release myself to take bolder risks. The next question is; what purpose is so great that you could dedicate your life to? This is the tricky part because unspecific vision is the bane of entrepreneurship. I don’t want to go into too much depth on this, but The Bible Project is very specific, very relevant and very grand in vision. I once made a short film with a tagline:
“What dream do you have in your heart worth dying for?”
I’m still finding it... but now the urgency has finally hit me.
