POJECT: Drones

NAME: Drone Asturen

DESCRIPTION: An amiable Vomissidese drone from the Eurvai colony, who failed his nuptial flight.

ROLE: Protagonist

IMPORTANCE: Main

AGE: 23

RACE: Human (Vomissidese variation)

APPEARANCE:

Average height, chubby

Reddish-brown hair, generally short but with over-grown sides. His fringe is held back by a headband. Facial hair is shaved clean.

Brown skin tone

His armour: A helmet with a fire symbol, decorated with red plants. His visor looks like goggles. Collar armour is golden, large and extends to his shoulders. The shoulder plates and breastplate are merely decorative -- they look like small gongs. He wears decorative bands on his wrists and legs. A belt has small purses attached to it.

Underneath: Wears a loose, sewn vest and a waistcloth.

Primarily wears warm colours, primarily red and orange.

GOAL: Asturen wants to go sightseeing around the world, and he wants better mobility. So, he plans to get his hands on one of those Feramellian Scooters. Also, he's lonely (and especially bummed that he'll never meet a princess), so he wants someone to travel with, as well.

PERSONALITY:

Personality: Humorous, Easily impressed, Amiable

Good Traits: Empathetic, Creative, Easy-going

Bad Traits: Airheaded, Impatient, Reckless

HOME: An Eurvai Colony

HISTORY:

Grew up in a Eurvai colony

Got comfortable in the energetic, almost erratic environment

While he never took part in conquering other colonies, or even knew what happened, he was always eager for the parties that happened after

Slacked off most of the time, never paid attention to many important things

Spent most of his days lazily and comfortably. All he knew was bliss

He was always curious about the outside world, though, and constantly asked his sisters about it

MISCELLANEOUS:

He stole a guitar-drum right before his nuptial flight

Despite the fact that he was illiterate, he loved listening to poetry and songs. He would ask his sisters to transcribe his poems and lyrics for him

RANDOM FACTS:

Asturen's name comes from the word "astern"

Because fire ants originate from the northern parts of South America, his armour is vaguely inspired by the Mayans

He is an ENFP

Hēda

POJECT: Drones

NAME: Drone Hēda

DESCRIPTION: An adventurous Vomissidese drone from the Aptur-Cho colony, who failed his nuptial flight.

ROLE: Protagonist

IMPORTANCE: Main

AGE: 23

RACE: Human (Vomissidese variation)

APPEARANCE:

Tall, athletic

Purple hair, shoulder length

Has a small, neat goatee

Light brown skin

Armour is shiny and purple. I don't have a really good description for it yet, but it's vaguely based off a samurai's (see 'Random Facts' for more details). A honey-coloured jewl decorates his headband, and spots around his armour.

Underneath he wears a long grey wrap shirt with indigo pants

GOAL: Heda never liked how constricted he was while growing up. When he found out how vast the outside world was, he became incredibly eager to explore it. He enjoyed how thrills felt so he got into danger a lot, even messing with the wrong people. He aimed to do as much as he could with his life before his inevitable death. After befriending Asturen, he decided to tone his actions down, but he was already on the run from some dangerous individuals that he angered.

PERSONALITY:

Personality: Bold, Sarcastic, Dramatic

Good Traits: Optimistic, Self-aware, Curious

Bad Traits: Prideful, Picky, Restless

Likes: Adventure, Literacy, Biology

Dislikes: Rules & constraints, Inactivity, Talking too much

HOME: Aptur-cho

HISTORY:

Grew up in an Aptur-Choan colony

Followed strict rules, always hated them

Was curious about society outside of the drone experience

At one point disguised himself as a worker to attend school

Was able to learn some basic reading and writing before he was discovered and kicked out

Tried to find ways to peek into the outside world

Always took every opportunity, especially with extracurricular activities

MISCELLANEOUS:

He can read very basic words

Sketched the world around him, tried to write words he could make out from others (most spelt incorrectly)

He doesn't like honeydew

RANDOM FACTS:

Heda's name comes from the word "ahead".

He is likely an ESFP, but he also doesn't talk unless spoken to or if he feels like he really needs to (I know quiet extroverts exist)

The design of his armour was vaguely inspired by Tadakatsu Honda's, as suggested by a friend of mine

Overview: Drones

Premise: Asturen and Heda, two now banished Vomissidese drones from different colonies - decide to spend the remainder of their lives together traveling the world. Unfortunately, in order for this to happen in peace, they have to fight off five vengeful individuals that Heda angered beforehand.

Key Words: Action, adventure, light drama, prose (for now)

Long Description: Asturen, a Vomissidese drone who failed his nuptial flight, is lost in the outside world and decides he wants to steal a vehicle so he can spend the remainder of his life exploring. He meets another Vomissidese drone from a different colony - Heda, who has also failed his nuptial flight. They agree to travel together, but in order for their plan to work out, they need to get rid of an angry group of five dangerous people that Heda had angered.

'Drones' notes #2

Drone ants don't do any work or defending, and their only purpose is reproduction. They're spoiled as royals until it's time for their nuptial flights.

I've taken some inspiration from this: Vomissidese drone people are kind of treated like over-the-top celebrities. The media they star in is showcased to nearby colonies, and given as gifts to a 'princess' if they succeed their nuptial flight.

Mostly magazines, Mills & Boon style novels, etc. Stuff where they're presented as "desireble".

But they're also not allowed to attend school and other important stuff. Tapocry society is hard for Vomissidese drones.

For their nuptial flights, they get the most stylish armour and weapons, but they aren't very practical.

Trying to figure out Asturen's design, and I gave Heda a beard lol

Since fire ants originate from the northern parts of South/Latin America, I'm making his armour vaguely inspired by the Mayans and the Mayar line from spectrobes

(oh yeah forgot to mention: They're two drones from different colonies that failed their nuptial flights :O will explain more another time maybe)

'Drones' notes #1

So yea I'm back into thinking about my 'Drones' story again :D

Still haven't gotten Mr Trap-jaw ant's friend's design down, but these are some ideas on what he looks like :D (obligatory vaguely-aviator-themed OC) This guy is from a colony inspired by the Fire Ants :D

Their names are Hēda and Asturen (which I stole from the words "ahead" and "astern" IDK why xd but it gave me prompts for their personalities

Obviously they get into a fight to the death before becoming life-long buddies >:D

Also, fun fact: Drone ants don't have stingers, or get given large mandibles

So I'm making it so that only female humans in this universe are the ones born with those weapons attached to their bodies somehow (like how that bee and hornet girl have stingers attached to their bodies)
