Project Vogue:
I set myself a challenge of making a set of advertisements that would typically be found inside Vogue magazine.
I chose 10 brands then began my research, flicking through several fashion magazines and searching through online archives to understand how each brand like to present themselves through advertising.
I made note of the colour schemes used and the balance between image and type. Brands like Gucci and Dior favour the darker colours where as other brands such as Ralph Lauren and Chanel like using lighter tones. Brands such as Celine and Chanel use a lot of white space compared to Gucci and YSL.
The images used for Dior, Celine and the front cover were taken from a photo shoot for Pony Step magazine. These images were originally in black and white so I applied colour on photoshop. I changed clothing by either removing brand names and pockets or even changed clothing completely, lightened hair colour and removed shadows and backgrounds.
The advertisements all feature Dannii Minogue, I presented it in a book style folder and gave it to her for her birthday.
Disclaimer: None of the original photography or brand logos used in this project belong to me and no profit was made from this work. I will do my best to credit the owner of photos that do not belong to me or if I do not know this then I will state where I found the image. If i’m unsure of where the image was found or who it belongs to I will label the source as unknown, this means it does not belong to me.
