A really hot chick is sleeping in my bed.
I'm on the goddamn floor.
Literally every weekday I can’t sleep until I’m dead tired, unable to keep my eyes open because I can’t stop thinking/worrying/panicking/imagining/guessing/questioning/contemplating about everything
hashtag hamilton is perfect and now I don't know where to go to college
"Alaina why are you putting those braids in your hair it's so nice and long"
someone makes a comment about my hair length, little cousin sighs "I wish I never cut my hair."
ask little cousin why she doesn't want to put her hair in braids "ew i don't want to put weave in my hair."
There are a few things I'm sick of when it comes to hair in our community, mostly this insatiable lust for length. Whether natural or relaxed there seems to be the golden rule of the longer the better, never mind actual hair health. My hair is not even all that long and it's like as soon as it started to noticeably grow longer people started to wonder well why are you still putting your hair up in buns and braids? You have length now. Cause I fucking can. I don't do this so my hair can grow, though it is a benefit, it's cause I'm lazy and I like it.
Also in attempts to love our natural hair there is this growing elitism within the community. You know that I'm not one of those black girls who puts weave/perms in their hair. There's a fine line between have your own personal tastes and standards and being an uppity snob about it.
