Dress, hair, manicure -- some details for Prom are obvious. Our Pinch Proof Prom Prep (say that 5 times fast...) includes some items that may not be as apparent but are just as important:
One week before: Create a playlist of your favorite dance music to get you pumped for the big event. Play as often as you can leading up to the event. Try to guess what the big song of Prom night will be!
5 days before: Break in your shoes. Scuff the bottoms so you don't slide on slick flooring. Wear socks with your heels and walk around your house to gently stretch and soften. Practice walking with confidence. Expert tip to survive a long night in heels: tape your third and fourth toes together (medical tape works best). Sounds weird, but it helps steady your foot muscles so you can balance.
3 days before: Prepare your best excuse to get out of an awkward conversation. Remember: Pinch Proof ladies are always graceful.
"I think Amy is waving me over to dance. Sorry to dash, but I love this song!"
"Thanks for asking me to dance - I'm flattered! My shoes are killing me so I was just about to rest my feet, but maybe I'll catch you later!"
2 days before: Get your best Prom pose down pat. These pictures will be pulled out from the archives 20 years from now, so make sure the Prom paparazzi catch your good side.
1 day before: Gather all the items on your checklist.
Day of: Make sure phone and/or camera are fully charged. Pack your purse. Remind yourself: there is no pressure for the "perfect Prom" -- just dance, laugh, and enjoy!
