School Dances...

Okay so in honor of my little sister’s prom taking place this week, I feel like I should post this. 

A few weeks ago I came home to find my mom watching the movie Prom and ended up watching it along with her. Obviously the prom theme in that film is something like Starry Night which is so overdone in my opinion. Like seriously, that was the same theme as my senior prom. People need to get some new ideas out there. 

Anyway, that movie got me thinking about what would be a fun theme for a dance because I’m out of high school now and obviously have nothing better to do with my life than picture ways it could have gone better. Cue the caesar salad I was eating as half my dinner serving as inspiration. 

So I come to you all, wondering why exactly ‘Salad’ is not a more popular dance theme. I mean seriously, just picture how colorful the decorations would get to be. And like how fun would it be to just walk into whatever venue and see paper or plastic lettuce and other salad toppings just hanging from the ceiling instead of stars or whatever. Plus, it would work so well for a spirit week!

Just hear me out for a second: 

Monday you’ve got Thousand Island Day. Everyone gets to come to school decked out in their best beach wear. Fun? Yes. 

Tuesday comes and wow, it’s Ranch Day! Everyone gets to throw on some cowboy boots and a hat and just like their best cowboy life. 

Wednesday could be ‘Hold The Dressing Day;. Cue everyone just coming to school in pajamas and having a zen middle of the week day. 

Thursday might just be Blu Cheese Day. I don’t know if this is an every high school thing, or just mine, but we had color wars. So the seniors could show up in green, the teachers in brown (cause like old lettuce man), juniors in red (shout out to tomatoes), sophomore in like purple or something (onions I guess?), and freshmen in blue because no one’s favorite is blue cheese (or freshmen). That was a joke, please do not get mad. 

Friday is House Dressing Day. Deck yourself out in school spirit and have a blast!

An alternative day could even just be Caesar Day in honor of my inspiring salad. Just togas. Everywhere. Or like everyone could dress as their favorite Shakespeare character too if you want to go that route. 

Basically this is just an entire random rambling post about how I think Salad would have been an absolutely bomb prom or homecoming theme and that my school totally missed out on an opportunity here. I mean I kinda wish I was still in high school because you can bet I’d be out there campaigning for this theme next year with all of my might.
