i took intro to linguistics last semester and my final project was on baby sign language and OMFG deaf BABIES acquire language more quickly than hearing babies and and i got to be an advocate for sign language being a valid language and gahhhhhhh words! <33333333

Sho's Earthborn. Their birth last name (Yael's as well, because I am making Jewish biotic Shepard twins a thing) was Zahavi, but when they entered the orphanage, they didn't know their last name: only that their first name was Sho, the orphanage staff extrapolated out to "Shoshana."

[vague personal history handwaving about age when convenient disappearance of parents/guardians occurred, and why they might not know their last name; look, I made Sho two days ago, I've a bit to unravel about them]

"Jane/John Doe" continues to be used in the future for unidentified/amensiac individuals, but Sho knew who they were, just not what they were fully called. "Shepard" was used as a placeholder last name until anyone could dig around into hospital records and find Sho's real last name, but it wasn't much of a priority and by the time Sho did the research themself, official records had been updated with "Shoshana Shepard" and they'd started to identify with the name.

So it stuck.

Don't cry, things (while they will take a few years) will get better, with amazing friends and the most amazing high school. CALM DA FUCK DOWN (I was a very scared child)

Probably having to kiss my friends armpit....it was a choir trip, and I was 12(?)

I would take my friend Jo and (she doesn't have a choice) we would go to Scotland. I've always wanted to go there.
