Hiya youngbloods,
On Wednesday, our little rockin' trio were invited to play the kick-off of this year's summer sessions of Girls Rock! Chicago Rock Camps. We did our best PG-13 renditions for all of the 8-16 year old campers and their parents, and hopefully inspired some future female rockers.
The camp, a week-long crash course in learning an instrument, forming a band, and performing your own song, sounds amazing. It took me so long to be able to pick up a guitar and perform in front of even my closest friends. I was in college before I could perform in front of a crowd. The ripple effect from the confidence and tenacity that this camp instills in these girls will be felt for years to come in the Chicago music scene. On the horizon, we're ecstatic to be playing with Kittens?, Indian Summer and Natalie Grace Alford!!! That's July 11th at the Underground Lounge.
