Dear SASSA and SAPO. Please indulge me for a quick second. This unemployed person has been trying to collect this R350 grant money without success because 1) The Post Office in Umzinto was burnt down in July and 2) the Post office in Park Rynie is now strictly a sorting and pick-up centre for Umzinto mail box owners, 3) the Scottburgh Post office was damaged by rains and strong winds and is closed indefinitely 4)the Highflats Post Office is an empty building ever since equipment was stolen from there months ago. Now, in attempting to collect this grant, which has a deadline attached to it, R352 of borrowed money has been spent and close to 22 hours of traveling time wasted. My question is, isn't there a way to streamline the process and are there no alternative collection methods you could avail to people in remote villages? Grannies collect their grants from the community hall, why can't the SRD grant be collected in a similar fashion? Don't reinvent the wheel, just do the obvious and put the interests of the poor first. Also, if people collect grants locally, it boosts the local economy. Isn't that a win-win for remotely rural communities? You do want a better life for them, don't you? #notyetuhuru #commonsenseaintthatcommon #dontreinventthewheel #propoor https://www.instagram.com/p/CWtn8gPqX20/?utm_medium=tumblr
