Off topic for this blog but... just watched Trump refuse to answer the questions of journalists if their newspaper didn’t kiss his ass enough...
It totally fits with his relationship to journalists thus far, but I suspect it doesn’t really dawned on some people until today that the US actually has elected a fascist opposed to the freedom of the press.

Censorship!'#will applaud Trump for being 'outspoken' against journalists#applauding him while he takes away the freedom of the press#because they don't get how freedom of information and democracy and freedom of the press are intertwined#They will egg him on as he takes away their freedom#and they won't even realize it#maybe one day when the internet is blocked and all information about events comes through official propaganda sites#like it does in China#but not before#Being able to hold your government accountable#being able to hold ANYONE accountable#requires information#the first step of an authoritarian like Trump is to control information#by legitimatizing only those that disseminate information he approves#and ultimately strip funding of his critics#prosecute them#jail them for defamation#until being critical of the president is a crime#and you wake up one day and realize freedom of speech has been taken away#in the name of... freedom of speech
